The Chosen Family

"The difference between friends and family is that friends are the family you get to choose."
(I don't remember who said this or where I read it)

I said it in Toronto and I'll say it again with no reservations. All who have travelled from distant lands to be counted and have their voices heard, I salute you and I truly consider you my friends. Our time was limited and I did not get the chance to connect with a lot of you on a personal level, but this is my loss. I missed out on a lot of learning experiences and I finally regretted dropping Spanish class in high school (my mother told me I would), but at least I could feel your energies whenever you were near to me and I know that there were many good souls around me.

The point is that Ignite the Americas exceeded my expectations. It produced a group of intelligent, like-minded young people who I think can actually complete the enormous task that is ahead of us. The key is that we move forward collectively and with one loud voice that echos across the length and breadth of these two continents and various islands. This single voice will take a little time to develop, as all things do, but I am positive that we will accomplish our mission. In fact, I have never been this sure about much else in my life.

Grass is green. The sky is blue. We will succeed.

Confident in the victory,
Gavin "Dutty" Hutchinson.

The difference between

The difference between friends and family is that friends are the family you get to choose. en mi país eso es un dicho popular muy viejo.
