Following are the key partners in Ignite The Americas. In addition to those listed here, Ignite is developing a number of strategic partnerships with grassroots organizations and cultural institutions both in Canada and throughout the Americas.



The Department Of Canadian Heritage (PCH)
The Department Of Canadian Heritage (PCH), which includes agencies in the area of major national cultural institutions, plays a vital role in the cultural and civic life of Canadians. PCH works to promote culture, the arts, heritage, official languages, citizenship and participation, multiculturalism, Aboriginal, youth, and sport initiatives.

 
Organization of American States
The Organization of American States (OAS) brings together the nations of the Western Hemisphere to strengthen cooperation on democratic values, defend common interests, and debate the major issues facing the region and the world. The OAS is the region’s principal multilateral forum for strengthening democracy, promoting human rights, and confronting shared problems such as poverty, terrorism, illegal drugs and corruption.

 


CYAN
Evolving out of a youth advisory that was convened for the primary Ignite Youth Arts Forum, CYAN bridges the divide between arts practitioners, funders, and policy makers. CYAN operates as a collective, whose members have a passion for the growth and sustainability of youth arts as well as extensive experience in artistic presentation, non-profit sector development, and social work.

 

Escuelas Sin Fronteras
Schools Without Borders (SWB) is a youth-run, Canadian charity whose mission is to develop lasting learning communities through innovative youth-led initiatives that facilitate youth engagement and responsible leadership both locally and internationally. SWB provides hands-on/project-based learning experiences for youth.

 
The Remix Project
Emerging as the largest youth-led urban arts project in the Greater Toronto Area, The Remix Project has its roots in the I.C. Visions Project, the first government funded hip-hop recreational centre in North America. Its highly effective programs use urban music and culture as an engagement tool and point of origin in working with youth toward their creative and professional development.

 


Manifesto Community Projects
Manifesto Community Projects is a non-profit grassroots organization that works to unite, energize, and celebrate Toronto’s vibrant and diverse music and arts community through arts and music workshops, professional development programs, art exhibitions, filmmaking, and concerts. Manifesto has quickly established itself as a leading Toronto-based organization with the resources and expertise to produce large-scale, authentic, community oriented events.

 


La Familia Ayara
La Familia Ayara is an organization of Colombian young people of African origin and mixed race which carries out social, cultural and business activities based on hip-hop culture, in order to empower children and youth at risk and from ethnic minorities in Colombia and to improve opportunities for them. Founded in 1995 in Bogotá, Ayara takes the income from manufacturing and selling its own exclusive line of clothing for hip-hoppers and invests it in social and cultural projects.

 

COMCAUSA ARTE E PENSAMENTO
COMCAUSA ARTE E PENSAMENTO undertakes projects and actions using new forms of youth organization featuring contemporary artistic and cultural expressions, in order to help transform society in this new century.

 
Yo! The Movement
Yo! The Movement is a non-profit organization that focuses on youth organizing through hosting and implementing safe events, programs, and happenings for youth and young adults in Minnesota. We believe youth should have greater influence and genuine ownership in the programs intended to serve them.
